Natural Matcha Tea is teas that do not contain any herbs or additives except Matcha tea. Tea Matcha, drunk at traditional Japanese Tea Ceremonies, is made from tea tree leaves grown in the shade. This Matcha Tea is made from green teas grown and processed in Japan, without any additives.

Matcha (pronounced as Maccha tea) is left in the shade for 15 days before the tea leaves are picked, because it allows the plant to secrete more chlorophyll. Chlorophyll both gives tea its bright green color and provides a strong flavor.

Once the tea leaves are harvested, they are steamed, dried, and passed through a process where stems, veins and other excesses are separated. As a result of the process, "Tencha" is obtained, where only 10% of the first collected product remains. Tencha is then pulverized very slowly, usually with a hand mill. It takes about 3 hours to get Matcha tea by grinding 100 grams of Tencha. Faster processing creates an unwanted burnt taste in the tea.

Matcha (Maccha) tea is drunk directly as well as used in many beverages and desserts. These include matcha latte, matcha cafe au lait, matcha milk shake, matcha cake, matcha cookie.

It is known that the best quality Matcha tea is grown and processed in Japan. As Chado Tea, we sell Matcha teas grown and processed in Japan since 2007 in 2 different qualities as Matcha and Mathca Koicha.
