What is Cocoa?
Cocoa is a 4-8 meter tall plant species from the mallow family that is used to make chocolate. Although its natural habitat is South America, West Africa and the West Indies, it is grown throughout the Tropics.
Botanical features:
Cocoa is an evergreen tree growing at a moderate pace to 8 m (26ft) by 8 m (26ft). It is hardy to zone (UK) 10 and is susceptible to frost. Flowers are pollinated by Thrips, Midges, Ants, Aphids.
